DCEC's 73rd Annual Meeting

The 73rd Annual Meeting of the Members of the Delaware County Electric Cooperative (DCEC) will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Delaware Academy and Central School in Delhi, New York. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by a Brooks’ House of BBQ dinner (advanced ticket purchase is necessary, please contact DCEC for more information). The business meeting will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.

During the meeting, officers of DCEC will provide a report on the status of the Cooperative. A $500 grand prize drawing, donated on behalf of Delhi and Margaretville Telephone Companies, will be given out along with other various donations from suppliers and business associates of the Cooperative. Members will be asked to vote for several local charities that will receive a total donation of $2,000 (a combined donation from DCEC and a cooperative financial supporter, CoBank). The five charities that will be on the ballot will be Delhi Food Bank through Delaware Opportunities, Girls on the Run of Central New York, Michelle MacNaught Memorial Fund, Relay for Life through American Cancer Society, Inc., Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Inc. These charities will have displays set up where members can learn more about them and see how each organization greatly benefits our local area. Other booths and organizations at the meeting include: Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Alternate Delaware County Dairy Princess and Delhi and Margaretville Telephone Companies with information on the Broadband Initiative. The Cooperative will also have special guest speaker Congressman Faso as well as a special ceremony honoring long time employee Wayne Marshfield for 50 years of service.

The 2017 Nominating Committee met and nominated the following six candidates for three seats on the DCEC Board of Directors which will be voted on at the Annual Meeting.
